News Release I 3 April 2013
London: Canada Day, one of London’s favourite free summer festivals, returns to Trafalgar Square on 1 July with great food and some of the country’s best musical artists. In 2012 the festival attracted more than 90,000 attendees and today Canada Day International is pleased to welcome Nexen back as one of this year’s Co-Presenting Sponsors.
“As Marc Carney prepares to take over the top job at the Bank of England, Michael Buble fans anxiously await his impressive 10 sold out performances at the 02 Arena, and rising Canadian tennis star Milos Raonic sets his sights on his first Wimbledon championship, London will be celebrating Canada like never before,” says Chad Molleken, Executive Director for Canada Day International.
Canadian music legends Jann Arden, Arkells and The Tragically Hip are the first officially announced headliners. Other great Canadian bands playing on the Main Stage will be announced later this month.
